Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the international break, but will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, readers and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's latest album, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.

My son told me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have have lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
